They do not divide life into the “possible” and the “impossible.” They do not measure truth by evidence or probability. They simply believe — freely, joyfully, wholeheartedly. A child can meet a character in a book or on a screen and welcome them into the inner world of imagination as naturally as breathing. Peter Pan can fly, and so can they. A talking bear can offer honey, and they will gladly accept it. A lion can be noble and wise, and they will follow him without hesitation.

Adults smile at this innocence. And then, somewhere along the way, they lose it.
