Prayer is the breath of the Christian life. It is the first cry of the newborn believer and the final whisper of the departing saint. It is the language of dependence, the posture of humility, the expression of worship, and the lifeline of faith. Yet prayer is also a mystery. We often do not know what to say, how to say it, or even why we say it. We feel our weakness. We sense our ignorance. We recognize our need. It is into this weakness that Jesus speaks: “After this manner therefore pray ye.”
