The word believe is among the most familiar in the Christian vocabulary, appearing throughout Scripture and forming the very heart of the gospel call. Yet familiarity can sometimes obscure depth. In English, “believe” often suggests little more than accepting a statement as true. But the New Testament writers—guided by the Holy Spirit and writing in the precision of Koine Greek—used a word far richer, fuller, and more demanding: πιστεύω (pisteuō). This book was born from a desire to recover that richness.
