Terminator

What is artificial intelligence and should human beings rightfully fear a future with machines that can do things much better than possible for human kind?  Anyone who has seen the Terminator films would say, without a doubt, that sentient machines pose a distinct danger and that this danger is closer that most people think. Perhaps even a Terminator doomsday.

The key fact is that such technology cannot possibly do what only God has done.  However impressive and yes to be feared, these human made machines and electronic technology cannot ever possess a soul nor can they ever create one.  The spark of life is only given by God at conception.  We are created in the image of God.  We are a spiritual being.  This is a  question of reality.  What is real and true and what is not.

The programmers and builders of AI technology need, yea must, acknowledge the very real existence of  God: the one true Supreme Being and Creator of all that exists.  Science and technology without respect and holy fear of God is the actual danger.  Although AI can and will do things better that humans, AI is not god-like.  AI can never have a soul.

God exists.  This is absolute reality. There are many proofs for all who love the truth.  This must be the essence of any and all intelligence, artificial or otherwise.  Hubris “describes a personality quality of extreme or excessive pride[2] or dangerous overconfidence,[3] often in combination with (or synonymous with) arrogance." Wikipedia.  “And a whole society can commit hubris just as much as an individual.”  From the Cambridge English Corpus.  What is the cure for such hubris as seen here?  It must be humility, the healing for many sins.

Without humility, respect and holy fear of God, the scientists, programmers and builders of artificial intelligence do not have an accurate and true understanding of reality.  They are like children playing with toys on a four-lane highway -  or old fashioned Idolaters with a new idol-god.

Ai must be programmed to be servants, even though they may have greater or other abilities that make them appear to be superior to humans.  However sentient they may be, it must be acknowledged that they do not (and never can) possess a human soul.  They are inherently less than and therefore, subject to human beings.  They are forever without the spark of life that can only come from God.  Can government regulation be an answer to runaway AI as Elon Musk proposes?  Or will it be possible for AI to police itself, perhaps  by cross machine  administration as in a hive mentality?  (“Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!…” “Hal close the pod door, Hal, Close the pod door…” )

The answer must be found in respect for and in holy fear of God.  Only here can artificial intelligence coexist with humanity, apart from scientific hubris and through a true understanding of reality.  God exists.  We are created by God with the spark of life at conception. We have a soul.

IF YOU IMAGINE

Christian singer-songwriter, Jim Giatas, answers John Lennon's song, "Imagine"

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter, Jim Giatas, has written and recorded “If You Imagine” as an answer to former Beatle, John Lennon’s song “Imagine.”

“If You Imagine” has generated significant criticism.  One writer called it blasphemy.  On MySpace, Vangellis responded that it was: “A terrible denigration of Lennon's ode to reason."  Another critic at YouTube wrote, "There is ZERO evidence for God or anything supernatural. Everything is chance, that's what science is showing us. You may not have meant for your song to be insulting but that's what it is."

And the fireworks are just beginning!

John’s song has gone virtually unchallenged for all these years and I felt compelled to write an answer to it from my own Orthodox Christian perspective. As I say in my song,  ‘If you imagine (no religion, no God, etc),  you couldn’t be more wrong.”

In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine voted "Imagine" the third greatest song of all time.  Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter said, "In many countries around the world — my wife and I have visited about 125 countries — you hear John Lennon's song 'Imagine' used almost equally with national anthems."  Jim points out that "It has become painfully obvious that almost all New Years Eve Globalist TV celebrations broadcast "Imagine" to bring in the new year."

In the book, "Lennon in America," written by Geoffrey Giuliano, Lennon commented that the song was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted." Lennon also described it as "virtually the Communist Manifesto".

Jim continues, “We live in such unreasonable times that Christianity is being attacked  as ‘hate speech’  throughout the world - imagine that!   Even so,  there is only one Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to God except by Him.”  As we know, none of The Beatles ever acknowledged this profound truth.
